Our approach
We want to deliver your solution the best way possible. And with over 15 years' experience, we've got a pretty good idea of what works. Yet in an industry where technology and client expectations are changing rapidly, we also recognize that the approach which worked last time may not necessarily deliver the best solution for you.
When you choose ZenFocus, you get the best of both. We blend tried-and-tested implementation methodologies with new ideas and approaches. The result: a project delivered with the optimal level of project control, risk management and flexibility needed to gain maximum return on investment
ZenFocus Implementation Methodology (ZIM)
ZIM is at the heart of our implementation approach. This is a traditional project management framework based on the 'waterfall' principles common in industry standard methodologies such as Prince2.
Robust processes from start to finish
At ZenFocus, we have developed a 4 stage, 12 step framework - evaluate, plan, design, implement. This methodology provides the basic resources and processes to ensure every project is delivered consistently, along with the right level of supporting documentation, project management and change control.
All of our projects follow these steps, from initial interaction with sales right through to 'Go Live' and post-implementation. You can read more about each of these steps on the left-hand menu.
The right skills for the job
All our consultants are trained and accredited in this methodology, as are our project managers, who are also accredited to practitioner level in Prince2.
In addition to this framework, we also employ a number of other complementary methods and techniques on certain projects where either the business requirement or the nature of the solution merits it.
Templating - an innovative approach to project delivery
We recognize that every business we engage with is different - and as a result, no single solution that we deliver is quite the same. We also know that many of the challenges our clients face are shared across industry sectors and businesses. Our consultants have developed a huge pool of knowledge and experience regarding the best ways to solve those problems using our software.
Harnessing our knowledge
We have been working on ways to harness our knowledge so that every implementation we embark on can benefit from the successes and lessons learned from previous ones. Rather than starting 'from scratch', we endeavor to match each new client's requirements to a 'template' solution as early in the implementation lifecycle as possible.
A smooth handover
This may be a 'generic' template with just the core functions set up or a more specific template configured to support the majority of requirements we have come across in a particular sector.
In each case, we will look to build on this template as we progress through the sales and needs analysis steps of the lifecycle. When the project is handed over to our implementation team, they have everything they need to deliver a robust and functional system based on best practice and proven solutions.
Agile and iterative techniques
When a bespoke business process is needed, all our core products allow customized processes and workflows to be designed and integrated. If this level of design is required as part of the overall solution, we've found that using a more agile and iterative approach to deliver the solution is the best way to reach the best possible outcome for our clients.
Identify, agree and build
Using collaborative design workshops and fast, short development cycles, we can identify, agree and build an ideal solution to a business problem far more quickly. This approach sits comfortably alongside the standard AIM methodology as described above and forms a complementary work stream where this type of development is required.
When utilized in combination with the templating approach above, we can also share with our clients the value of solutions we have applied in other situations, quickly tailored to their own specific needs.
